- An aid — never a definitive source
- Everything here is provided as guidance only. Satellite detections can be false alarms (hot surfaces, sun glint, gas flares) and real fires can be missed (clouds, small or short-lived fires). Never act — or decide not to act — based on this platform alone.
- Data is delayed, not real-time
- Detections depend on satellite overpass times and NASA processing — typically 1 to 4 hours behind reality, sometimes more. The absence of a dot never means the absence of a fire.
- The AI can be wrong
- Confidence, risk and anomaly scores are experimental statistical estimates. They can be wrong in both directions and are not yet validated for Algeria.
